During the appointment I told the doctor that my last
cardioversion
only lasted 2 weeks, he said we won’t bother with any more cardioversions for you then .

Cardioversion
The cardio mentioned that if the
cardioversion
failed I should have an ablation. However is that any more likely to prove successful than the
cardioversion
?

Do you have persistent or long-standing AF?
You may also be taking medications, have previously experienced an intervention such as a catheter ablation,
cardioversion
or a pacemaker.

Dofetilide
I have afib and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy along with a history of 3 ablations and 7 cardioversions. I recently started taking Dofetilitde after the required 3 day hospital stay. IT is now 10 day later and I still have passing epidodes of afib. I am interested to hear about anyone else on defetilide

slower heart rate following electrical cardio version
Hi, I had to have an electrical
cardioversion
due to fast AF 3 weeks ago. I have noticed since then my HR is lower than my normal baseline was pre
cardioversion
. It is regular in 60s and 50s where as before it would be 60s-70s I feel fine and I exercise regularly I’m 58.

Intermittent fasting and AF
This was directly contradicted by the specialist cardiac nurse who performed my
cardioversion
this winter: "Many people are able to get out of AF by losing 10% of their body weight." My GP said, "Intermittent fasting is unsafe for anybody on blood thinners.

Advice please
My partner has AF also has LV ejection fraction of 40,%. A long history of high blood pressure. Following diagnosis his meds were bisoprolol, apixaban, for blood pressure lisinopril and doxazosin. He has had two short lived cardioversions . He has never had a stress test. He has had a tape , ECG, echo

Weird follow up
I usually stop it in one clean go after say a
cardioversion
or ablation, without any withdrawal probs. So thanks anyway for your care and sorry for being unclear.

Sudden High Heart Rate
After two and a half years of investigations, 2 cardioversions and two ablations, I was finally pronounced free of af in April this year albeit with some 14% ectopic beats as shown on my last 48 hour Holter monitor. My heart rate was between 50 and 60 regular bpm, I was exercising again and I thought

Ablation at last!
Hi All! After two years of waiting my ablation will (hopefully) happen on August 22nd. I have fast AFib and also cardiomyopathy and this is why Bristol said no to me (with my underlying heart condition his success rate was only 16 per cent) so my Taunton hospital said they’d try St Barts in London

Amazing
If you have had a successful,
cardioversion
you know how good you can feel. Imagine that only better. It’s not a magic wand as I found out. Just like any other procedure, you are going to have some soreness and questions.

cardiomyopathy and afib
I was told
cardioversion
had its best chance of working if done early, but it’s just getting left to get worse as far as I can see. Thanks for any comments.

Fifth Ablation Done
Synchronized
cardioversion
was used to restore sinus rhythm., Pacing at the end of the case did not induce further sustained arrhythmia.” Not only was he thorough, he confirmed that arrhythmia couldn’t be induced. Four days being back in NSR, and lowered blood pressure to boot, feels great!
