Generic Drugs
I have been taking the same drugs for a few years. I take Stalevo, Ropinerole, Trihexyphenidyl and half Sinemet CR. These have worked well for me. However, my GP has advised that they intend to change my Ropinirole tablet with a tablet called Repinex XL This appears to be the generic trade name and

Curcumin and CoQ10
My husband has PSP and is taking the drugs sinemet CR, Apo-levocarb, gabapentin, tyrazodone and magnesium glycinate. Is it safe to take curcumin and CoQ10 along with these drugs?

My neurologist wants me to go to Madopar CR instead of just Madopar, I'm a bit dubious - has anyone had experience with this drug ? Thanks.

Does anyone have any reliable information about ZANDOPA?
I have been on Sinemet for six years - 800 mg currently - and now that the s/e are severely impacting on my life I am keen to find a way of reducing it. In particular, the dyskinesias are getting much worse. I can't be prescribed a dopamine agonist because of ICD previously. I have received a 200g

Extended Release Medications
I have read some posts where Extended Release medication forms such as Sinemet CR and Stalevo are being cut in half. These medications are meant to be swallowed whole as cutting them (or chewing them) defeats the purpose of the dose.....a gradual slow release of the active medication so that large "spikes

Does anyone take Trihexyphenidyl?
I had an appointment with my Consultant yesterday as my usual cocktail of Stalevo, Requip XL and Sinemet CR are not controlling my tremor. After discussing various options I was asked to try one of the above tablets twice a day. As I have never heard of this drug I wondered whether anyone had had

Sinemet CR
I have recently been prescribed Sinemet CR in addition to my usual meds of Stalevo and Requip XL to help with sleep problems. However, in addition to them not helping with sleep my tremor seems to be quite a bit worse. I go back to the hospital next week and wondered if my tremor problems would be due

Is efficiency of meds affected by weather?
I realise that this sounds a stupid question, but was wondering if anyone has found this to be the case? I have been away in my caravan over the last weekend. When I am there my meds usually last longer, but this time my tremor has been much worse. I don't know if this is because it was extremely cold

Sinemet CR and sleep
I have recently been prescribed Sinemet CR to help with my sleep, or rather lack of it. I take 4 x Stalevo 100mg and 1x8mg Requip XL daily. I have been taking last Stalevo at about 7pm and Sinemet at about 10pm when going to bed as advised. I am still waking after about 2 hours. I know a lot of people

Anyone know how long the waiting list is for DBS at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square, London?
Hi everyone, hope you are all okay. I had my consultation this week. I was told that the only option for me was DBS as medication is not working. Next step is to meet with the DBS Team at Queen Square. I am now left in a situation where I am simply trying to manage this rather precarious situation

2 x Madopar CR, 100mg taken 11pm tonight - ambulance called at 2am? Why did this happen?
I am not sleeping well at the moment. My GP suggested that I try 2 x Madopar CR for bedtime dose to see if that helped. I took them at about 11:30pm (I also had Baclofen in my system to calm painful leg dystonia). I fell asleep. I woke at about 2am this morning and felt a bit weird, like my blood

Sinemet best practice - take a tablet when you feel you need it or stick to 3 times a day and be uncomfortable.
I cannot stick to 1 tablet of Sinemet, 62.5mg 3 times a day as directed by my PD Nurse as I definitely need one every 4 hours or I wear off and have very uncomfortable, painful restless leg syndrome. I have started taking 5 a day and then add in Sinemet CR 25mg Levodopa at night to try and get some
