My son's resp nurse is against him having a neb at home. (He is 10yr) Also has adrenal supression now, due to high dose of steriods. (Which is another worry) Reason's she say's is because his Sats fall low during an attack, the peadatrion agrees with this. During his last attack we called the

What next for my poor little girl?!
My gorgeous little girl was put on a maintenance dose of pred last month. It eased the daily symptoms she was getting of exercised induced asthma for example. Prior to this she could only walk 50m without becoming breathless. Since beig on daily pred she can walk further and sleep better without regular

Hello
Hi to you all, I've been lurking (so to speak) for some time and finally joined the forums tonight. I'm mum of a 6 year old and a 4 year old. My little boy was born coughing (literally) 4 years ago, which was tentatively diagnosed as floppy larynx. Anyway to cut a very long 4 year story short, he has

Hello everyone My 2 year old daughter has recently been diagnosed with Asthma. She has been in hospital 3 times since April and 2 of those were in the last month (as well as lots of visits to out of hours centres for nebs and steriods in between). Each time she has had an Asthma attack she seems to

Not sure how to proceed anymore
I have 4 year old twins and one of them has severe/difficult/brittle (every hospital has different names for it) asthma. She was diagnosed at 7 months old and she is unfortunately getting worse. She was admitted 14 times last year and that doesn't even begin to detail the number of times we have dealt

Which nebuliser is best for a nearly 3year old?
Hiya all, my godson's mam will be permitted to get a nebuliser for her nearly 3 year old son. We were just wondering which one's the best on the Market at the moment? I know us adults have to buy our own, I don't suppose children get them on prescription do they? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

and just when it was all going so well..............
Well looks like all the excitement about Sean being so well on new drugs has come crashing round our ears. He was suffering with hayfever sun night/monday and on tuesdy ended up being admitted to hospital. His p/f was down to 25% and inhalers/nebs not making any differnce so on iv salbutamol in hdu.

New to board-some questions regarding 5 year old son and asthma
Hello I have three lovely boys who are 5, 3 and 16 months. My eldest son, Isaac, has asthma. Actually his history is a little complicated but the long and short of it is that he is now treated for asthma. I guess I am now only fjust full accepting this after years of blaming his respiratory problems

nebulisers for children
Just wondered when are nebulisers brought into the daily amanagement plan for children? My daughter (16mths) has had asthma for nearly a yr and is on Ventolin, seretide and Montelukast. Her consultant has swayed whether to prescribe a nebuliser for home but then changes his mind as he feels she should

hot weather and another asthma flare up :(
Last Monday we had Alex back in hospital again with his asthma. He recovered so well after his last serious attack in April we had thought we might have been lucky and hopefully see the back of it after stripping his bedroom of carpet and new anti-allergen bedding. How very wrong! He has been back

13 year old with asthma- a few questions
Hi! I have a 13 year old daughter (Haley) who was diagnosed with asthma when she was 11. It was very mild, the doctors even called it ""borderline"", meaning they weren't sure if it was bad enough to even call it asthma. She went about 2 years hardly using her inhaler, probably about once a month This

Caught between Gp and Cons
Hi Everybody Hope you are all well My little girl (she's 6) had a little bit of a wobble the other day so phoned our surgery for prednisolone. Usually they just leave us a prescription but spoke to a gp who wouldn't prescribe it without seeing her. Fair enough I thought so took her down. He agreed
