What a to do
Well I was just sat there watching tellyl when it was just like my lungs shut down. I could not breathe in any air at all - thought that was it! panic! Drag drag on the bricanyl, cough cough to try to get some breath in - remembered the purse lips and tried that. I must have been like that for 20

Need a Tattoo or Two!
Got myself into a breathless panicky state yesterday, and didn't remember to try to control my breathing and calm myself down.... I need a tattoo on one hand saying KEEP CALM and PURSED LIP BREATHING on the other. I had been wheezing all day when my neighbour asked for help catching a cat and kittens

Everythings changed on here.
Haven't been on here for a while, bowed out when things were getting nasty, hope everything is calm and happy now? Just logged on to - once again - praise the NHS, or at least the Castle Ward of Royal Berks Hospital in Reading. Rocked up at A & E last Saturday at 5.30 am with COPD (or is it?) breathing

Asthma attack two days ago, breathless today but no wheeze
I had a (wheezy) asthma attack on Saturday, paramedics were called and I ended up having two rounds of neb- one with salbutamol and the other with ipratropium. I'm one of those lucky people who reacts really well to nebs and clears up my wheeze entirely, but that does leave me with the issue of seeing

No wheeze, no asthma..
So I was admitted to hospital June 26th with an asthma attack, discharged myself on the 28th. Back in on the 8th with asthma, kept in for eight days, was discharged on the 15th, I've been on prednisolone 40mg for about 4 weeks, and my gp suddenly took me off them on Friday. Back in recuscitation tonight

Nebulised Bupivicaine
So my consultant has started me on nebulised bupivicaine. For those who don't know, bupi is an aneathetic used in epidurals, nerve blocks etc. Apparently there's very few people in the country on this specific aneasthetic and I'm the only person in Wythenshawe on it according to my doctors. What I

Soph's POSITIVE cons apt :-)
Heya all, As some of you will probably know, Soph is having a pretty rough time with uncontrolled asthma and far too frequent serious hospital admissions. She also has had a lot of bad luck with consultant appointments, and like (I suspect) a lot of us, struggles to articulate how things really are

Should I stay or should I go now
I have been struggling all last week with my asthma and hay fever obviously the current very high and high pollen count and hot weather are not helping me. Unfortunately, things are getting worse for me, yesterday I used a total 26 puffs Bricanyl reliever for the day, and a total of 10 nebs for the day

Nebuliser - mouth piece or mask?
Which do you find the most effective way? I am asking because in hospital I used the mask then when I came home I used the mouth piece today I have gone to get a new one and find I have been given masks. I have used one and I actually feel as if I have taken in more of the nebs. Has anyone else had experience

Questions about Omron micro Air nebuliser
Hi everyone, I have finally got round to buying a portable neb and it came today. Just a couple of questions I have... It says to move the mouthpiece away from the mouth when exhaling, does anyone find they can exhale through their nose instead or do you use the manual setting? Also, it says to disinfect
