Celebrating with a visit for Canadian Ducoral
ON Monday I will start on Degarelix, (my
bicalutamide
with dutasteride regimen failing after 4+ years.) I'll probably keep the dutasteride as it keeps adrenal androgens from being metabolized to the most active form. (DHT) Wondering if estradiol would be a good addition at this time.

Is Proton Pencil Beam an option for salvage radiation of a tumor located in left seminal vesicle and extending to rectum wall?
If this is not an option, I am planning to start 150- mg
Bicalutamide
monotherapy along with 10 mg of tamoxifen to reduce my PSA which is now 57.1 having increased from 34.7 in April when I was at NIH for the latest scan. Your thoughts please. Thank you.

Update on my disease: <0.1 PSA today
. - started ADT in April with Eligard,
Bicalutamide
(30 days). Added Zytiga and prednisone early-May. Long term ADT 2 to 3 years planned. - image-guided IMRT, 38 treatments, started April, finished June 18. That brings us to today. I feel extremely lucky to have such a good result at this point.

An Update On My Father's PCa - Test Results/Treatment Plan
ADT would be
Bicalutamide
and Eligard. I asked for a PET scan and he said there was no clinical reason to do so. On Monday we will be travelling to University of Michigan's Rogel Cancer Center for a second opinion.

Elevated LFTs
Anyone think the grapefruit-
bicalutamide
combo or something else I am taking could cause such marked liver enzyme rise, and if so is this typically reversible? Or does this seem more like a sign of liver mets?

AlanG - ADT or NoT??
I guess these posts have helped me as I have almost finished 1 month on
Bicalutamide
. Today or tomorrow I will have the first injection of Zoladex. (don't like all this stuff going into my body and aim to get off it ASAP). Not one for the medicine or medication trap.

Adding Casodex (Bicalutamide) a good idea ?
Basically he agreed the current treatment was fine but suggested that adding
Bicalutamide
could possibly reduce my PSA further. My question is: is this a good idea? Is there any problem with adding
Bicalutamide
? I’ve read that it was a predecessor to Enzalutamide but not as effective as E.

New to the Group, G9, CHEK2c.1100 inherited, suspected but unproven de novo oligometastatic with inconclusive staging work-up
I was immediately and concurrently started on
bicalutamide
and given a 6-month depot shot of Lupron. Staging work-up has been inconclusive but worrisome. Bone Scan showed a circa 1.2cm bright signal R sacrum, tiny less bright signal L 11th rib.

BAT stumped, padding up for second innings
After about a year the
bicalutamide
failed, I stopped taking it and commenced bipolar androgen therapy (BAT) against all advice. I waited a month to allow the
bicalutamide
to wash through.
