doctor refusing to refer to specialist
On the 2nd discharge they added two puffs of
becotide
continuesly. On 3rd discharge they doubled the dose of
becotide
and told me he needs to be referred to the respiratory clinic by my GP.

Update and rant!
and I'm sure doubling his
becotide
use has made him more hyeractive also. Sorry this ended up being a long post and a bit of a ramble. O one more thing, does anyone else feel they have to give their childs entire life story to the receptionist before being able to get a dr's appointment.

Brittle Asthma - Any advice - tips etc and General Rant!!!
He's currently on 2 puffs of
Becotide
morning and night and Montelukast every day and Salbutamol as needed. He also has Prednisolone as needed (much too often for my liking). He also appears to have Hayfever (Allergic Rhinitus) which i think has triggered the last two attacks!!!

just need to offload!
In between time he's managed on two puffs of
becotide
twice a day and ventolin as and when he needs it. He tends to have problems when he gets a cold which is very often. He's also now on his second lot of anti-biotics in two months for chest infection.

Using Pred away from UK with no access to advice!
I seem to remember back in the old days using the
becotide
and ventolin together every few hours throughout the day following attacks, but can't remember if this was at the same time as the Pred, or if i stopped the inhalers completely to allow the Pred to work?

swine flu vaccine has caused asthma flare up??
He has been on 2 puffs of
becotide
twice a day and singulair. His asthma has been in good control gp suggested reducing his meds this september but we decided not to reduce them due to swine flu risk. He seemed to get a cold on Saturday and his asthma has got worse since then.

Chest pain, sore throat and fatigue
I’ve tried asthma medication like symbicort, and
becotide
, and also tried antihistamines, but they don’t appear to help at all. One of the health conditions that I have researched on the internet called Costochondritis, seems to have very similar symptoms as the pain seems to be around my ribs.

AeroChamber problem
I've been using the
Becotide
inhaler sucessfully for many years, but a few years ago was advised to use a spacer device for better effect. This was the large two-piece Volumatic device. Around two years ago, I was prescribed a superior form of
Becotide
called Qvar, which has smaller particles.

Not sure whether Dr is right and what about competitive cycling?
I was prescribed Beclomethasone (is that
Becotide
? can't remember) and Ventolin but about a year ago, found that the preventer made me cough immediately so I decided that must be because I wasn't asthmatic after all (wishful thinking) and I stopped using it.

Conflicting advice
When I have an infection I am told to double up on
Becotide
. My grown up son has just been told he should never double up on
Becotide
but on Ventolin. Which is right??

Can't get used to new preventer after being switched off Becloforte
I was stunned to hear that Becloforte (and
Becotide
) are being discontinued although I know this is old news here! My asthma is usually pretty well controlled with quite high doses of Beclomethasone, and I have had no problems in the last six months.
