Becotide

It appears to be reasonably mild at the moment, I take becotide twice a day and ventolin as and when I need it. My symptoms (when it flares up) tend to be general wheeziness and coughing, but I also suffer from sinus trouble and (unfortunatley for my other half) snore a lot at night!

months ago my asthma has been so hard to control i was put on singular and it helped for a while sent for an allergie test im allergie to trees grass blah blah blah otherwise known as hayfever lol so this seemed to go down hill after 2 weeks went to hospital with an attack and was taken off ventolin and becotide

Hi all, I have been taking the becotide steroid inhalers for quite a while now, and my asthma doesn't seem to be improving at all.

in the past ive tried: Becotide, Green inhaler Purple inhaler Orange inhaler montilucast none of those have seemed to work in the past. Does anyone have any suggestions on what treatments that i could ask the Cons if its worth trying?

I guess this will include, Becotide, Serevent, Ventolin. Seretide, Pred. ect and i think that this is toatlly impossible and outragious, how can a 'real' asthmatic go without inhalers, its complete health risk, well if the NHS want to spend more money on Nebs and doctors time then go ahead.

It is the same one as my son uses, becotide 100, and I am on 4 puffs am and pm. Is this a little strange since I *don't* have asthma? As it happens after 5 days my cough has almost gone again! could be coincedence.

Since then I have been back on my meds (Becotide 4 puffs morning and night and serevent 2 puffs morning and night and ventolin as and when). I was told to take double becotide for 2 weeks then go down to just 2 puffs morning and night which I did on monday.

I went to see the asthma nurse, and she put me on serevent as well as my becotide. I have been on this for about 2 weeks now. I have still not noticed an improvement. I did not really realise how bad my episodes where until I started taking peak flows.

And you know what that means - in a few days I'll probably have a chest infection, and I'll have to go back on the Becotide. Meh. Unless anyone can think of a way to stop the germs getting to my chest? Feeling a bit sorry for myself tonight. xx

Hi Just wondering if you know if you can be a blood donor if you have asthma & are on treatment (just usual ventolin, becotide & serevent & have had pred a couple of times)?

I gave the new clenil modulite inhaler a chance, although it was difficult even though the modulite made by an alternate company was packaged in much the same way the beclometasone and the becotide were before that. however it is in the usage of the clenil modulite that was too strong for my system and

I've weaned off the seretide and the becotide and my PF is holding up and I have no real symptoms. This will probably make many of you want to throw things at me as I can see lots of you are suffering out there.

When I get a period of wheezing I have no regime to cope so just limit exercise to zero and wait it out with my Salbutamol and Becotide puffers.

Day to day my asthma is reasonably controlled by becotide and ventolin. I have just taken up running and about to start swimming soon hopefully. This will hopefully improve my poor peak flow which is currently only 350-380 (Male 11 stone 5.7"" high athletic buildish..lol) Many thanks Chris

I seem to remember back in the old days using the becotide and ventolin together every few hours throughout the day following attacks, but can't remember if this was at the same time as the Pred, or if i stopped the inhalers completely to allow the Pred to work?

Which I couldnt do last week, but I still feel really drained and have no energy, I still get out of breath really easily and im a far cry from my normal self, I have finished the antibiotics and taken all the steriods, I have increased my becotide to two puffs 4 x per day, but im still useing my ventolin

From there he prescribes me with ventolin, becotide and antihistomines with nasal spray... I notice no help from these at first. Then as time went on I noticed the ventolin helped with my coughing attacks. But I was still coughing on and off throughout the day.

She then went on to change my Becotide Inhaler to “Q-Var”, and told me to use an Aero Chamber. I was then told, that this should really help clear things up...

Wondering if it's worth switching back to becotide or whatever it's alternative is these days and the serevent. Anyone else encountered this? Smithy xx
