Cryo ablation 6 days ago..am I back in AF?
I've been for an ECG this afternoon the results of which are being passed to the arrhythmia nurse team at the JR in Oxford, where I had a cryo ablation last Friday. AF symptoms of breathlessness and feeling faint and then some for a couple of days and now a bit more settled but irregular and fast pulse

5 Days Post Ablation and getting an ECG
After three days of being extremely breathless and light headed following a cryo ablation at the JR last Friday I'm now feeling more settled, my pulse still fast and irregular but not as extreme. I had a call from an arrhythmia nurse (at last) at the JR who was very helpful. The next step is an ECG

No one died from A F
I posted earlier today . I am not now being negative , I am trying to be pragmatic . On this brilliant forum we are constantly told “ no one dies of AF “. I was wondering what actually brought on the first bout of A F to people here. Mine came on years after Mitral Valve repair . 2 long ablations

What is a cardioversion?
If you have AF you may have been offered a cardioversion, but may be unsure of what to expect? A

is a procedure to convert your heart from AF back into normal (sinus) rhythm. This is achieved by administering a rhythm control medication (antiarrhythmic drug) by mouth or through

Lopressor dose titration
Permanent afib 100mgm of Lopressor am & 50 pm plus eliquis. Decided to cut back to 50 in am because of blurred vision and now have had upset stomach times 1 week plus HR back up to low 100's. Thought I felt better on lower dose but maybe not??

a week later
I was diagnosed with AF 7 years ago while at our holiday home in Spain and had the catheter ablation 5 years ago in Switzerland our main home. I wrote last week that I had a cold and thought I was back in AF after being free for 5 years and in Spain again. After 6 days of continual high heart rate

Fitbit versus Apple watch
Thank you to everyone who replied to my post re Apple watch and Kardia. I decided on the Kardia 6 as part of the kit mainly because cardiologists seem to think they are accurate. I am still not decided on the watch yet. I havnt been diag with AF yet as some may remember , Ectopics yes , and they are

High Pulse Rate and Irregular Rhythm 3 days after Ablation
I had a cryo ablation at the JR on Friday. I was expecting to be feeling better today but my pulse is all over the place, anywhere between 80 and 140, and irregular. I feel like I'm back in full-on AF.. breathless, tired and light headed. I left a message describing my symptoms with the arrhythmia nurses

New to Afib
Hi All,I'm very new to Afib after being rushed to hospital late Feb with my first episode. Currently on Apaxiban 2 x daily and Metoprolol 2 x daily. I went for about 4 weeks without another episode after the initial one, but now its a daily thing. I did a light walk on the treadmill today which sparked

cardioversion
hi, I had my first Cardioversion at St Richards Chichester on 11th March. (First diagnosed early January but probably been in AF since Sept) It worked initially but reverted to AF very shortly after. Since watching the very helpful video interview on this site with Prof Gupta, now realise that most revert

COVID
I just tested positive for COVID for the first time. I am 67 with Afib/flutter, Inappropriate SinnTschycardia,, I take 25 mg of Metoprolol and -25 mg of klonopin for anxiety. I take 81 mg of aspirin. I have the Atriclip that occluded my left atrial appendage, as I had a near fatal hemorrhage with Eliquis

Looking for feedback regarding Asymptomatic Afib
I'm fairly new to this forum and I already feel at home. It's very refreshing to find an online community whose members are so kind, understanding and generous. By way of introduction, I'm a 69-year-old male living in Connecticut. My Afib history is as follows: Diagnosed with Afib by PCP - 8/9/

Hi, My GP is recommending shingles vaccine. I am just concerned if it will cause atrial fibrillation. Any one had shingles vaccines with no adverse effects like atrial fibrillationThanks Padma

Waiting Times For Ablations?
Back in August last year I had a cardioversion which only lasted for 3 weeks. In October I had a CT coronary angiogram and received the results in December. It showed that I do have some calcification but non flow limiting and otherwise all was okay and that I was being referred to the cardiologist for

BNP 1800
I have atrial fibrillation and my BNP tests that indicate risk of heart failure was 800 and is now 1700. The stats I have looked at are grim eg 80+% chance of death within 10 years and 50% for 5 years ( at around 2000 BNP near my numbers). Does anyone know if there is a treatment to lower BNP to under

Advice for newbie - severe symptoms, when to call 999 etc
My mum’s in her 80s and has had Afib for about 10 years. Since the initial episode and hospital admission 10 years ago, she never saw a cardiologist but was on medication from her GP. Over the last few years she’s been getting more and more episodes where she feels very unwell – fast & irregular heart

weight loss wehovy and AF medication
Started to post and it’s got very long and I mentioned this in that post but I thought I’d make a separate post. I am in atrial fibrillation in the other post. I talk about my age of my weight but this is a specific thing I’m back in atrial fibrillation after 12 weeks of being in normal rhythm. After
