Interesting PSA progression on STAMPEDE Zytiga (Abiraterone) trial.
Hi All A couple of months ago, I was asked if my PSA results were accurate, as I was quoting from memory, and it was 6 years ago. Anyway, today I got a definitive answer from my Oncologist, and I think they make interesting reading. First PSA test at doctors 12/11/2011 PSA 443.9 First PSA test at Oncology

AR-V7, Zytiga(abiraterone) and Xtandi (enzalutamide)
According so some studies, 40-50 percent of patients receiving any of the above drugs do not respond well or develop resistance in about one year. I am curious to know if any of you who are already taken these drugs know whether you have been genetically screened for the presence or absence of AR-V7

If these DNA repair alterations are present after treatment with
abiraterone
, docetaxel, or enzalutamide, there is a higher response rate to olaparib.

Abiraterone 500mg Daily
Hi guys, Due to the high expense of
Abiraterone
we are looking at my Father taking 500mg a day with food instead of 1000mg a day fasted state, now he taken 1000mg a day for a loading dose for one month. My Fathers oncologist is happy with this as well.

Looking to be aggressive, but in the right way?
I began treatment March with Casodex and a three month Lupron injection, and in August, replaced the Casodex with
Abiraterone
(1000 mg daily) to go with my three month Lupron injections.

Useful video from last month's EMUC meeting in Barcelona.
Arm B will receive "androgen deprivation therapy + docetaxel +
abiraterone
acetate + prednisone". If that turns out to me superior - & why not?

Merry Chemo Christmas!!
MO has stopped Cosodex and ruled out Enza or
Abiraterone
as there is no 'androgen axis'. He also noted that this is not behaving like 'normal PCa'. So I need to start chemo right away (first dose scheduled 29 Dec).

Low testosterone / PSA failure / risk of death.
Given prolonged survival when
abiraterone
or docetaxel is added to ADT in men with castrate-sensitive metastatic PC and possibly localized high-risk PC provides a rationale supporting their use with ADT in men with low testosterone in the setting of a phase 2 trial.

Integrating evolutionary dynamics into treatment of mCRPC.
Two patients declined to continue GnRH suppression with Leuprolide (an ADT that is continuously administered as part of any
abiraterone
therapy) at months 17 and 20, respectively, but continue taking

News from ESMO 2017.
Interestingly, he says that "I do not endorse giving both
abiraterone
and enzalutamide." I wonder why? -Patrick [1] https://www.medscape.com/viewarticle/888466

One or the other?
Matthew Sydes at ESMO 2017 indicate that docetaxel and
abiraterone
/prednisone are equivalent in terms of providing survival benefit. The costs and side effects are quite different. Of course what do I know?

Letting the cat out of the bag with my grandchildren.
As some of you may remember, I was diagnosed 6 years ago with stage 4, but due to my medication (
Abiraterone
) I have done remarkably well and I’m still in pretty good shape. The time has now come to tell them.

"BAT is currently being tested in a large (n = 180) randomized trial (NCT02286921; TRANSFORMER) in asymptomatic mCRPC patients who have failed on
