Can Acupuncture reduce hot flashes
Hot flashes are the only remaining side effect (of Lupron) after stopping
Abiraterone
and Hydrocortisone ADT in January 2022 when my MO said my PSA of 0.06 was “near undetectable.” Yippee, a bunch of
Abiraterone
side effects went away. So I’m on Lupron ADT only now. My April 2022 PSA was 0.07.

Nubeqa after abiraterone resistant
After a year of ADT...Lupron,
abiraterone
and prednisone... I stalled at PSA 1.5. Then it increased over 3 months to 2.9. Medical oncologists took me off
abiraterone
and prednisone and replaced with Nubeqa. 30 days dropped to 1.6. No apparent side effects. Will test again in a few days.

looking for treatment advice
Husband is on
Abiraterone
, Prednisone and monthly Lupron shots. He completed 6 docetaxel treatments in April. PSA has slowly gone from almost 7000 to 4 since last diagnosis last September. So far it is still slowly dropping each month but no where near undetectable.

Chemotherapy or Zytiga or both? Metastatic or Locally Advanced Prostate Cancer?
Unsure what to do re: the chemo as local oncologists (at a center of excellence) won’t prescribe because they say husband is not technically metastatic and they feel ADT +
Abiraterone
plus radiation therapy is an aggressive plan. Thoughts?

Neuropathy and cabazitaxal
The chemo is the last ditch effort as he has failed all other SOC (Xtandi,
Abiraterone
, Docetaxal, ADT- resistant now). Question- could this chemo make neuropathy worse, and is it something we should be concerned with.

Determinants of PSA Response to Bipolar Androgen Therapy [BAT]
Responders were more likely to have had a radical prostatectomy as definitive therapy and were more likely to have been treated with an androgen receptor (AR) antagonist (enzalutamide or apalutamide) immediately prior to BAT (compared to
abiraterone
).

define "metastatic"
(https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35371297) Wherein this statement is found " survival of metastatic HSPC can be improved with the addition to ADT of any one of docetaxel,
abiraterone
, acetate, prednisone combination, apalutamide, or darolutamide in combination with docetaxel".

Starting Lupron ... Again
We discussed the studies pertaining to adding a second level ADT med, like
Abiraterone
, that showed a potential survival advantage. We also discussed adding Erleada and
Abiraterone
. Ultimately, I elected not to add anything to the Lupron.

Evidence that the Medical Community is Failing Prostate Cancer Patients !!
But Don Pescado, you may argue, STAMPEDE only proved the use of
abiraterone

Side Effects of Docetaxel vs Cabazitaxel
Been at this for over 6 years now, diagnosed at stage 4 and ever since on ADT, plus 6 cycles of Docetaxel,
Abiraterone
and Enzalutamide. Looks like its time for Cabazitaxel. My doctor is recommending that as the next treatment.

Tough Questions
He has gone through docetaxal (almost killed him), Lupron, Xtandi,
Abiraterone
, Xgeva, immunotherapy, palliative radiation, and next was going to be cabazitaxal. His labs came back with his platelets at51, too low for treatment.

Breaking androgen receptor addiction of prostate cancer by targeting different functional domains in the treatment of advanced disease
This is technical at first but if you work your way through it there are excellent data on why
abiraterone
, apilutamide, Enzalutimide fail, and how pretty awesome darolutamide is, but its not invincible.

Am I missing any options / pipeline developments that could allow me to stop HT?
I am on monthly Degarelix and daily
Abiraterone
. Clearly I love my PSA having the less than sign and want it to stay that way but am starting to be miserable with how much the HT is changing me. it’s not just the no libido which on its own is a QOL disaster but the energy and drive loss.

Got my genomic analysis - sounds like there are possibilities?
I'm high volume metastatic cancer, currently on Lupron, had to stop
abiraterone
due to liver numbers off, & had 1st Docetaxel chemo a week ago. Sounds like Keytruda could be beneficial as immunotherapy. Possibly concurrent with docetaxel? What should I get out of these results?

Anti-PCa effects of statins, prednisone, aspirin and denosumab (Xgeva)
I will be getting it in late December, and already get prednisone in conjunction with
abiraterone
, and am on a statin I used to need but no longer for lipid purposes. Does anyone have info about low dose aspirin with regard to anti-PCa effects?

Where should I purchase Abiraterone from
Where is the best place to purchase
Abiraterone
from? Need to take 1000 mgs a day on an empty stomach for 1.5 to 2 yrs. Yearly cost with my Medicare part D drug plan from Wellcare is very high. Good RX looks promising but will their price last over time?
