I have been having a flare for about 5 months ad experienced very bad pain in my joints together with a shaky feeling . It went on for a few weeks and although I have arthritis etc it was a different feeling of pain. I found it quite frightening and I was wondering if allof you who experience joint pain would describe it as severe.

Hi Faith,
I've experienced severe joint pain as a result of SS, but there can be many different causes, e.g. autoimmune disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and infection. Medications used to treat autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis can be used to manage joint pain in SS, e.g. ciclosporin, methotrexate, infliximab.
Severe joint pain can be scary, and make you feel unwell, nauseous or shaky. Hope you're feeling a bit better.

Definitely class my joint pain as severe. Sometimes I can't move due to the pain. Getting dressed is a nightmare. I feel the joint pain and fatigue are the worst symptoms I have when I have "an episode", luckily so far 2months is the longest. I have had ss diagnosis since 2014 take care
