Did you know that fainting, dizziness, light headedness, insomnia, palpitations (a sensation of heart pounding), blurred vision, weakness, pooling or discolouration of the ankles or feet, chest pain are all common symptoms of PoTS (postural tachycardia syndrome).
If you have been diagnosed with PoTS, what symptoms did you experience prior to your diagnosis?
Prior to receiving her diagnosis of POTS my daughter experienced many different symptoms, some troublesome and some downright crippling. Racing heart, chest pain, chest tightening, dizziness, shortness of breath, fainting, near-fainting, blurred vision, extreme fatigue, sweating, "hot chills", shivers, cold hands, numb hands, tingling hands, vice like pressure feeling in her head and heart, exercise intolerance, movement intolerance, painful feet, post-exertional malaise, flu-like malaise and many, many more. The autonomic nervous system is all pervasive therefore symptoms are all pervasive. Gradually, since her diagnosis she has improved with high salt diet, extra fluid intake, medication and physiotherapy.
