Hi Nicholas, I was diagnosed with OA in my early fifties and because I was not on any meds the doctor prescribed strong painkillers which really worked. Two years after my feet were terribly painful and yes it was OA. I had to say goodbye to my heels and wear trainers or flats going to the office, not very sexy. This was the beginning of my foot problems, my right foot began to turn in and after seeing Podiatrists for cheap insoles, and later expensive insoles I eventually had a foot operation to repair the main tendon in my foot, I now have 3 larges pins in my right foot. Because of the way I walked my knees began to cause me really bad pain and I suffered 3 falls which did not do my knees any good, but thankfully caused no lasting damage. Fast forward 7 years and my left foot is now in the same state as my right foot, however, because I now have so many ailments the surgeon does not want to operate, I am managing with new insoles. I cannot walk far but the pain is no longer constant. I have learned to live with it. Thankfully since lockdown my OA has been kind to me and I have not had too much pain. I can only take Co-codamol now which works some of the time. When I go out I either have to use a mobility scooter or just walk short distances. Shopping is no longer a pleasure so I do most of it online. If anyone else has foot problems I would urge them to ask for help sooner rather than later. My eldest daughter who is 46 has had problems with her feet for the past 2 years, so I guess the foot problem is in the genes. Bye for now Maximonkey
