A very interesting read.......I would like to find out more, as I worked in industry for 13 years...I was interviewed by a Professor of Environmental Health who also had an interest in Occupational Health....he stated that there could be a link between my Scleroderma and my previous employment....

ah glad it resonated for you wartsandall !

It doesnt really hit the mark for me, though I did study a 3 year Applied and Human Biology degree which required me to do lab work etc as well as my final year dissertation was working with a human cancer cell line; but I graduated 2 years before my diagnosis, and my symptoms appeared almost over night in Sept 97 (age 24 and I had just signed up to study for a postgraduate diploma in law.) So may be a bit remote for me ......

I have spent hours, as I am sure you have, what was I doing to myself? / why did my white cells programme themselves to go on the scleroderma and raynauds journey ?? I am still searching for that answer ! haha !

so much more research needs to be done. I really believe that there must be a cure as well as a preventative measure approach can be identified .... the million $ secret haha ;)

In the meantime us laypeoples who live the diagnosis second to second must help and raise awareness around the medical community ;)

All I can say is that those of us who either one of these diseases much do our own research. I came up with some very interesting stuff while researching and took it to my Dr. Most GP's don't know much about these rare diseases as they don't have the time. I mean, what can you get to know about a patient in 10 minutes? But those of us who have them, we will have to be the ones who fight for information and treatment and don't stop until we have a few answers and at least the correct treatment!
