Does anybody take sertraline and have regular iloprost infusions ?
I have recently been prescribed sertraline by my gp - reading the patient information it says that there is an increased risk of bleeding when the two are combined and it is advised against. I wondered what others experiences are and if they have been able to take SSRI’s while on iloprost?
I know my gp will have on record somewhere from clinic letters that I am on iloprost infusions, however I don’t know if she remembered / knew about it at the time of prescribing it.

Hi l have iloprost infusions and take sertraline, I don't have any problems with this. The medical team who administrator your iloprost infusions will ask what medication you are on so there is no need to worry. Hope this helps your worries X
I’m glad to hear that it is possible to take both.
I’m not going to be seen by my rheumatology team until January (I don’t get asked about medications or see anyone other than the day unit nurses when I have my infusions - they don’t ask about medications or anything they go off clinic letters I presume)
I am on sertraline and have regular iloprost infusions - every 4 weeks. There was an occasion in January when I had some bleeding and my mouth filled with quite a lot of blood. I had a couple more incidents of much smaller bleeds which they think were oesophageal and loads of tests; rheumatology stopped my infusions for a few months, but my circulation was so bad I begged them to restart them. I have had no more bleeds since January. If you are worried, speak to your rheumatologists. Good luck xx
