probiotics for scleredoma
Hi, I've been taking a probiotic from bettervits and chia seeds each day for about 6 weeks now and I definitely notice a difference 🌹
Yes, I have been taking 2 capsules daily (victoriahealth.com/mega-pro.... It's hard to be sure, but I have noticed a significant improvement with dryness in my mouth and very very mild hay fever this year so far (usually It's very bad). These were not the benefits I expected, but It has improved my quality of life.
I’ve read what you’ve written in your post relating to dry mouth. I suffer very badly from Sjögren’s Syndrome. Is this the type of dry mouth you were referring to? I have tried everything but nothing seems to work for me and I constantly wake in the night with my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth and choking sensation. Even conversations are getting difficult now 🥴.
Hi, sorry to hear about your problems. My mother has Sjögren's and suffers a lot from this. I have Scleroderma, but I think it is the same sort of dry mouth problem. Not so extreme as yours, but uncomfortable. I started the probiotics to help with intestinal issues, so this was an unexpected (and very welcome) benefit. It's not a 100% cure, but I don't get that sandpaper feeling or the sticking. This study backs up my experience: 'This study concluded that probiotics increase the amount of saliva of completely edentulous patients and so it can be helpful in patients suffering from xerostomia/hyposalivation' J Indian Prosthodont Soc

Thank you so much for your prompt reply! I have had scleroderma since 1996 but it worsened to systemic sclerosis in 2010 when I lost internal organs. My Sjögren’s is secondary to this. I’m willing to try anything now and will order some now and fingers crossed will be as lucky as you!
You're welcome. Now I am beginning to wonder if I might have Sjögren's too. I just read this on the SRUK page re Sjögren's: 'Spreading a teaspoonful of salad oil around the mouth or breaking a vitamin E capsule into the mouth last thing at night can also improve lubrication and prevent the mouth from drying out while you sleep'. I am also taking vitamin E and Omega oil supplements (i am rattling around now :), so maybe it all contributes to more lubrication. Best of luck!
I have taken Symprove each morning before food for about 3 years. It’s helped with the severity of my intestinal symptoms but not the frequency. My life is still dominated by weekly bowel problems.
My annual subscription ends in June and I’m going to try 6 months without it to see if I can manage without it.
As I have difficulty in swallowing pills, I take Schiff’s Digestive Advantage PRO (not pre) biotic gummies. I also try to incorporate apples, raisins, pears and Chobani zero sugar yogurt in my diet. Yes, I have noticed a more “normal” movement as opposed to the “pellets”. However, I am trying to push more physical activity and water to promote more frequent bodily response in bowels
I take pre and probiotics (synbiotics) and I feel very well in myself. I am usually careful about eating an anti inflammatory diet but I think the pre and pro biotics are making a big difference.
I have kefir every morning on an empty tum and feel that it helping me
