Hi, just wondered if any of you who have had COVID and are immune suppressed, have taken the anti-viral drugs? If so, what did you take and what avenue did you have to go down to get them ? 😊

Hi. I had covid this year. I'm immunosuppressed and was given antivirals, namely paxlovid. I had received a government letter informing me that Im eligible for treatment and also my consultant informed me of same. On the morning I had a positive result I phoned the number allocated for my health board who asked which medication I was on and diagnosis. They then arranged an appointment for me to be examined due to O² sats reducing with minimal exertion.

I had Covid in February and received paxlovid for treatment. My doctor called it in after we finally found a pharmacy that had it.

Thanks for your replies and apologies my late response! It appears you all have had an easier time than I to get the AV’s I was told I would get if I contracted COVID! However, eventually got them on final day of recommendation (Monday past) to start prescription and have just swallowed my final 4 of the course 😁😁 I didn’t get the one yous got because of supposed interactions with other drugs I take and now can’t remember name of them as am writing this 🤔🙈. Those of you who have had these drugs however, will know the significance of swallowing the final 4……. they are enormous and were not something I in particularly looked forward to getting down the hatchet ! Just hope though, the AV’s have done the job they are supposed to do and already have helped both of you 😊

Seemed to do the job for me. Hope the same for you.

I was sent a rapid PCR test in readiness and when I caught it I used it and followed the instructions given inside. The sample was collected from my home within the allotted time period and a doctor called me within 24 hours to confirm the diagnosis. Next I knew I was contacted and given an appointment to attend a clinic for the anti viral medication to be given intravenously the following day. I was there for about 45 minutes until the drip finished and a further 30 to check all was ok. I have no idea as to the name of the drug, but I had no side effects whatsoever and can’t say whether my covid experience was changed in any way by the drug or not. I only know that I did not suffer unduly.
