I had a cold spray put on before the injection - I'm probably the wrong person to ask because I'm very very needle phobic. It didn't work for me but if it had of done I may have done it again so it can't of been that horrendous. I would use some kind of distraction like your iPod or watch something on YouTube or something while they do it. I didn't know it was an option to have it done under a GA - the other bonus is it's very quick as in your In and out of the hospital much quicker without the need for recovery time or anything as soon as it's done you can go.

Thanks for your response , I will give it a try as you say your recovery is much quicker and I can leave hospital as soon as its over ! ill keep you informed how I get on

I did 4 yrs ago. It is like getting a blood test, nothing major. I did not notice a difference except he hit a muscle by my baby finger. It sort of "froze" at an angle til the boots wore off months later. Was told some people improve and some, like me, experience no change. But nothing to fear.

I have had it with and without general anaesthetic. It’s not terribly painful without but depends on your pain threshold and the skill of the doctor. On balance l would rather have an anaesthetic despite its risks. I should say that the few times l have had the injections it hasn’t always been successful or made much difference. I do have fairly severe Raynaud’s, mostly blue fingers in winter and often in the summer. Fingers are also quite sausage like as swollen. My hands are complicated by the fact they are badly clawed due to Scleroderma but l would urge you to give it a go if it helps.

Thanks , yes my hands are also claw like , due to scleroderma but when ive had the botox in the past its has improved the sores on my finger tips. I will give it a go and try without the GA. I'll let you know how I get on.
