Hallo

I have sibo and am generally constipated all the time. Just stopped taking antibiotics and don't want to be taking them all the time. Can anyone tell me is there a natural way to fight with sibo through the diet?

Any advise very welcome

Regards

Ela

If you have SIBO and scleroderma, you will most likely need to cycle antibiotics indefinitely, potentially with breaks in between. Diet can’t cure SIBO from SSc because the motility is impaired by progressive damage to the GI tract. Ask your GI doctor for a SIBO diet, it may help to calm symptoms if used together with periodic antibiotics. Best of luck to you. 🍀

I was really poorly with SIBO last year, and lost 2 stone. I am now taking probiotics and I am also a vegan, which is helpful as I understand that dairy isn't too good for SIBO. I am still getting very constipated however, but found that this eases when I eat a lot of fruit, so I'm going to make an effort to keep this up. I also understand that taking long term PPI,s for reflux can be a contributory factor in SIBO, so will ask the consultant about this at my next appointment.
