Are you talking about your Raynauds re 4-5 attacks a day? And are you taking Losartan for hypertension? If so you may want to talk to your GP or rheumatologist about switching to a BP med that could also help your Raynauds such as Amlodopine or Nifedipine?

Yeah raynauds attacks 4/5 times a day, I am on Losartan potassium for raynauds however I have hypotension, I am unsure about why I was prescribed Losartan. I tried Nefidipine but I suffered side effects and it did not limit or ease the attacks.

I had bad side effects from Nifedipine too and also two other BP meds. Are you under rheumatology? If not I recommend you ask for a referral and if you are could you speak to them soon about worsening attacks?

I asked for a referral but was refused.

I was taken off the nifedipine (which I'd been in for years), because my blood pressure was so low. I would get to Dr right away, and find out why you are in losartan? Try something different. Some of these doc's with the hit and miss of treatiing these diseases. I take the potassium chloride daily as mine is low, affected my heart. Cannot find reason to take potassium for circulation ( as a nurse), actually if your potassium levels are normal and you are getting too much can cause you heart problems also. I take Aggrenox which contains aspirin, that helps thin your blood for better blood flow for my Raynaud's. My doc would not give potassium for circulation. Dangerous. Please keep me updated. Sorry I can't help as I had Losartan and it gave me horrendous headaches to the point I stopped taking them. I can't suggest anything else as I'm in the same boat as you. Different tablets and still no relief. The drugs ain't working, as the song goes. Hang on in there.

Losartan Aka cozaar, has numerous side effects. I am on Potassium chloride which is a mineral you normally have( a must have for your heart), so I did not continue to have enough as the disease affected my heart. So I take 2 of these a day, it helps keep me alive, but doesn't prevent some heart issues. For circulation I am given Aggrenox. I do not have high blood pressure (low instead), however I am given blood pressure meds due to poor circulation due to Raynaud's and SSC. Getting in touch immediately with your doctor is urgent if it is that bad for you. Sometimes you have to be forceful in being your own advocate. (But, you are never alone we are always here). But you need to call your doc. And keep us informed.

Make sure you are doing all you can physically to keep warm too., Lots of layers, decent gloves, hat, scarf. Some people's idea of good warm clothing is rather different from mine, I work out of doors and live in an old and very cold (partially un heated) house! If you can, try and get somewhere warmer or use direct heat as soon as you feel an attack starting, rather than letting it take a hold. Wrist warmers can help if you cannot wear gloves indoors for fine dexterity. Plenty of hot food and drinks. Keeping your core temperature up makes a big difference. Hope it gets better for you.
