It's only just started to get cold here but I am already having problems with my hands and feet , I have uploaded a photo of my fingers ...my toes are even worse . Does this look like the Lorsatan is working or should I ask for a different medication ?
Here I go again : It's only just... - Scleroderma & Ray...
Here I go again
this is what my fingers look like. I don't take meds though...
when you say ulcerate, do you mean they are callused over or open wounds?
If you get an ulcer it is an open wound. Because raynauds is directly linked with circulation issues, if you get an ulcer it takes ages to heal as your blood supply to the fingers is not as good as non sufferers.
Thats why it is potentially dangerous. If the wound becomes too infected and the body cant clear the infection or at least stem it, it can POSSIBLY lead to gangrene.
oh ok thanks! glad I found this site and can stay in the loop. Thank goodness mine hasn't really changed much over the years but it's good to know what to look for!
I have got a rather nasty photo of one outbreak if I can find it and work out how to upload it
hi there I have just been reading ur posts about finger ulcers my middle finger is the same as in ur photo. this finger on my right hand is mostly always blue and its the first to turn white.tell me is this how it happens ther is a little split at top of finger near the nail then it hurts and after a day it opens then becomes like the one in ur photo this is forever happening iv one at the min its been here for 2wks it throbs at nite an iv not been sleeping is there anything else u can tell me about how to prevent this, when my hands get white in the house I run them under hot water to get getm back to normal im wondering is this making them prone to ulcers... weaking the skin? ive been using alovera gel iv tried moisterising but id need to sit with my finger in cream all day for it to be of any benefit!!
I have routine iloprost. And take Losartan and nifedipene daily in the cold weather. Main drawback is the nifedipene makes my acid reflux worse.
I take Amlodipine for circulation and Losec for the reflux. If you have Scleroderma then you probably have Oesophageal dismotility anyway and need a PPI to control the acid. PPI is Proton Pump Inhibitor, slows down production of acid in the stomach.
