Awake yet again. I probably spend too long on my phone, but whilst I am awake and in pain, what else am I supposed to do?

These days it's hard to come up with something to do that doesn't involve an electronic screen when you can't sleep. Even my books are all on tablets and I have to knock some serious dust off anything I pull from the bookshelves. 😆

It can be quite a problem when you are wandering the house trying to figure out what will entertain you without keeping you up all night. Also without the risk of waking my husband. I always dread the sound of morning birds. It means I completely failed and it will be a very long day.

When I was younger I'd actually go run for 2 miles across the farm fields at ~3am before trying to sleep. I'm far from being in that kind of shape anymore, sometimes my problem sleeping is partially due to muscle aches in my legs or back, and where I live in the city now it's not so safe to go outside after dark. A walk/run is no longer an option.

Now I just have everything set to automatically dim the screen and turn on a blue light filter from 11pm to 9am. Most electronics besides some tvs have a blue screen filter. It's effective enough for me that watching a tv show or playing kittgensgame until I get too bored of how slow it's progressing is more effective at getting sleep than laying in bed bored.

I understand. My phone reads to me and plays sleep music for me at night. I am thinking that it depends on how you use your phone as to whether it is friend or phone. Have a good night.
