Long uphill struggle

I have been having a great challenge to solve my problem of night waking . The saga started about 2 months ago, where I was waking up around 2-3 am. fighting for breath and super high blood pressure. I have been prescribed a standard daily of 1x10mg per day for some time and after consultation with my doctor, was advised to double the dose. Things did not however improve and has made symptoms much worse.

I now suffer intolerable headaches, mostly lasting all day as a result. Early today (02.20 AM) I had a repeat of the incident almost identical as one the previous week. This time I sat it out rather than go to hospital for another blind alley.

From various websites I scouted around for further info. and stumbled on this site. I now gather there is some connection between nasal operations , both with Septoplasty and resections connected to Sleep-Apnea. I had the rsection for medical reasons some years ago and it has never given me the breathing improvement I expected. Sinus problems and coughs generated by the continual stream of mucus is debilitating in itself but now!! My partner sat in with my last session and noted that I stopped breathing for about a minute on occasions even sitting in a recliner chair. BP again off the planet.!!!

Where to now? Any advice would be most welcome as doctor Ain,t got a clue.

Have you considered you may have Allergic Rhinitis? With all that catarrh you are experiencing. And the coughing. So, You may like to try 1 over the counter antihistamine at night such as Cetirizine to see if it will help. Be aware that Some people find it helps them get to sleep. Read the patient info inside the box before consuming. And check with your Doctor first, to make sure they are ok to take with your other medications as you have other health issues.

I can guarantee you probably have sleep apnea and if you learn to live with the machine and find a face mask that you can deal with it will change your life like it did me.
