I'm a newbie to the website after it was recommended by a friend and my cofounder of our blog. Mental health awareness is huge for me. Not only for my kids but for myself and adults too. I can't wait to learn more about how everyone copes with Insomnia.

Me personally, I use animals, therapy (one and one and group), smells, meditation and the tools (CBT & DBT) I learned while I was in my 10 week therapy program. I 'suffer' from anxiety, depression, insomnia, adhd, arthritis, chronic pain, migraines and food allergies to name a few.

Welcome. Good to hear that you are so passionate about mental health awareness. We need that in this society. As for coping with insomnia; I have used meds, exercise etc . My newer coping mechanism is meditation. I use the insight timer app. There are also great meditations for anxiety, depression; you name it.

You will find this site to be helpful & with like minded people. Here’s to a good nites sleep🌗

I agree. Mental health awareness is huge. We definitely become advocates when we become sufferers. But experiencing this journey has certainly opened my eyes to an illness that I once myself overlooked or never would've thought it was a plausible illness.

I've experienced anxiety and panic attacks or became bewildered by it should I say, almost 5 years ago. Once that became the center of my attention it manifested into other things like insomnia, paranoia, and OCD.

I actually would love to have a pet as I believe that would help alot. I've tried CBT for a little while. Have been reluctant to stay on meds. Tried it once when I first went through this for 45 days and quit and haven't given it a second chance ever since. So I wonder sometimes am I making my journey hard by not giving in to meds.
