How does a lack of sleep impact your day to day life?

To answer this fully would consist of a long and drawn out paragraph about utter exhaustion, forgetfulness, depression, mood swings, and feeling like I live in a semi-constant fog.

I forget words, am told I look like I'm sick on a consistent basis (which is also partially trie) due to the bags and dark circles under my eyes, and feel like all I want to do is go home and lay down.

I have next to no social life, and what little time I do spend with others is oftentimes clouded by the persistent thought of "when can I leave to go home without seeming rude?"

In every way. My biggest challenge is trying to concentrate on work and produce when my brain is not functioning after multiple days of no sleep. It's so hard, and insomnia is not something supervisors or people who are not insomniacs can understand - so I feel like they think something else is wrong with me. Looking like crap is not as bad as not being able to drive/work.
