Hello everyone I recently was experiencing sleeping problems that I managed to tackle with medication (mirtazapine) light activity ,being positive etc. I decided to stop my medication and do it on my own and I was doing decent until I started going on YouTube and saw a video about a guy who died from insomnia that was worsening after he took antibiotic fluoroquilones or smth. It was named fatal insomnia smth and it was very scary and I cnt get over it. I pray it's fake and I'm so traumatised by it and scared that my medication might muck up the hypothalamus or w.e regulated sleep and kill me. Someone please reassure me and help me I feel in absolute fear the last week. tia

You are worrying too much. A philosopher says, "worrying is paying the interest that is not yet due" (or a debt that you didn't owe in the first place).
Keep watching or reading horrible news is NOT a good idea (even though not easy to stop). Don't forget a lot of them have been deliberately sensationalised (or even faked) just to boost the clicks (big business). Don't torment yourself for nothing.
I bet if you didn't play with your phones and tablets at night, you'd sleep just fine. I removed the games on my tablets and instanly gain a few hours sleep every night. My major challenge is to refrain from re-installing them. Easier said than done I know.
Whenever you feel stressed out, practise rythmic belly-breathing. You must exercise regularly during the day. Go for a walk. Go through some A-Z lists (make up your own), you could add the belly-breathing in between.
Let us know how you get on.
