Hi, I've been prescribed different sunscreens for last 5 years as I have uv sensitive skin, however products I've previously used have either been discontinued or doesn't suit my skin. I've heard good things regarding anthelios rochay posay. Have asked for this from GP but they said they can not.

Wanted to ask if this was still available on prescription and what can I do if my doctor (who is also the GP practice owner) doesn't prescribe me because she said it's not allowed because of budget in Croydon borough (London, UK)?

Would also appreciate a list of sunscreen's that are available on prescription in present 2025 please.

Thank you.

Sorry I have no personal experience with anthelios rochay posay. If I have this right, it is available over the counter at least here in the USA. And it does have great reviews on Amazon (see the link below).

CerVe - 30 meets my needs and is organic and highly rated. They do offer a SPF 50 version but it has many less then stellar reviews. :-)

I can only see a very limited number of sunscreens available on prescription, namely Anthelios factor 50, Sunsense 50 and Uvistat factor 30 and 50 and lipscreen. This list is obviously subject to change at any time. Your pharmacist should be able to give you up-to-date information.

Thank you, I didn't realise pharmacist could give me an up to date items that can be prescribed on NHS. Will phone and ask them as my doctor is saying they can't prescribe anthelios.

A pharmacist often has a better knowledge of medications than a GP! They have access to the availability of each prescribed item and what is eligible for NHS prescribing. Hope you find yours helpful.
