Hi does any one have a lot of problems with eyes like hole in mackerel and cateract just out of no we’re is this related ? To be part of condition is just something else

I am having problems with my eyes. Burning, feels like they have gravel in them. Also very photosensitive -need sunglasses even inside sometimes. Some blurred vision. I have had both cataracts done about 18 months ago and been having these symptoms for about 5 months.

Doc say Dry Eye syndrome and Meibomium gland disfunction. Have started Flax seed oil and fish oil daily also heat packs , massage and eye drops. He is not sure that it is because of Sjogrens????? Wish someone knew!

I had a macular hole and had it surgically repaired. Part of the surgery requires using a mixture of air and gas to form an internal scab. About a year later I needed cataract surgery in that eye, which is not unusual after this type of surgery. I was diagnosed with Sjögrens about a year after the cataract surgery. I’m not sure if it was related. The doctor told me that the macular hole was age related...once you hit 60! I have very dry eyes now and use drops morning and night and often during the day.
