Pilocarpine .One G.P. put me on this another told me to Stop using. What results are others finding using this. Evoxac anyone using this?

I was put on pilocarpine (salagen) by my GP but had to stop taking it as it made me feel as though I had flu all the time. It did increase saliva production but the effects were very shortlived after taking each dose - I'd only notice an increase for a couple of hours at best. Obviously everybody reacts differently. Why did the other GP tell you to stop using it out of interest?

He said that it would be more likely to cause dryness. Lucy did you have drops or tablets? Thanks for your reply.

I tried Pilocarpine (trouches) at the start of the year due to very dry mouth. Hoping to get some relief but it made no difference at all. I didn't get any side-effects, it just didn't do anything. And considering pilocarpine is so expensive in Australia, it was a complete waste of time & money. But it was worth a try & as you said 'everybody reacts differently'.
