new here, introducing myself

hi everyone.

I’m a Spanish guy 43 years old. I have mixed incontinence since 2005 due to traumatic spinal injury. Luckily I was one of the fortunates that after it manage to walk again (‘course worse than before, now I’m a bit lame in one leg, any sensitivity in the other one, and needing diapers 24/7 because of involuntary wetting and soiling. And even thus truly feeling one of the fortunate ones that walked after a spine injury causing paralysis! But that belief doesn’t solve the issues that daily and nightly diaper use creates. I’ll also add that before the accident having 24y/old, I used to wet the bed almost daily until I had my good 14s, and even if I didn’t knew it then, that experience represented a huge help in assuming and accepting my IC and the necessity of diapers, which I could never imagine then, while I was waking up in soaked diapers everyday! But that proves again that knowledge and experience is always valuable. Hope my presence here contributes someway and if I can help whoever it’ll be great, as great as if it’s myself who gets it. I wish lots of courage to everyone suffering from IC or caring for someone incontinent and send you my best regards to everyone!

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, (I can not walk, not even stand) spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. Both my anus and my urethra have been left closed except with manual intervention: I hardly ever pass urine via the usual route (I have a suprapubic catheter); nurses visit on alternate days to give me a bowel evacuation.
