SCT I am training to be a Firemen reserve and next week they putting me through a test to hold my breath with mask for 2 mins.

Is this okay

Congrats on your firefighter job!! I don't know I think it would be ok to hold your breath, make sure you drink lots of water and watch your oxygen levels. I also have the trait and have face problems. Keep in mind that people sickle cell trait can become dehydrated and that can cause sickle cell crisis or problems. People can experience, leg or arm or chest pain and kidney problems. Every person with the trait is different so make sure to rest.

I’m no doctor but I think you should be fine. I’m not sure how many people can hold their breath under water for 2 minutes but it wouldn’t hurt you I don’t think. Is this an oxigenated mask? Congrats on your achievement.
