Hi I just wanted to know if it is wrong I didn’t want to go to the cancer center when the doctor told me, I just have sickle cell treat but she said I should talk to a professional about cancer. I’m just scared to know that I actually have cancer. :,(

Most hematologists are also cancer doctors. That may be why you have been referred to a cancer center. Please go and get the help you need to live a healthy life.

You're a human being with SC Trait which means you need to be mindful of other diseases such as diabetes, cancer, obesity, etc. You still need to participate in wellness exams such as checking your prostate if you are a male or mammograms if female (as well as male), colonoscopy etc. Fear immobilizes one to do absolutely nothing. According to Nelson Mandela "I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it". Be about prevention and health and wellness; not running an uphill battle once you discover something that could have been avoided. Peace.
