Have you already had debulking surgery? Surgery and chemo in combination is a frontline standard.

A second opinion could help you decide. Surgery, if done by a gynecological oncologist, is a good option.

Erbuni - I did have surgery for a recurrence but I had it before the chemo. When you see your doctor again ask what the benefits of having the surgery are. Is there anything visible on a CT scan? What do they expect to find doing surgery? Normally I hear of people having chemo to shrink a large tumor or several tumors to make it easier to remove them during surgery. What does your recurrence look like on a CT scan.

What type of cancer did your mother die from? Was it one of the ones that has a link to ovarian cancer?

I would also seek out a second opinion. It may help you better understand what to consider when choosing your options.

Hi Gwen .My mother died from stomach cancer I was 2 years old ,now I am 61 back den was different. I think nothing to link whit my mothers cancer.I gonna se my surgeon after 9 chemo then we gonna go from there. My AC 125 getting low now it’s 26 .My oncologist pushes me to surgery.I can’t have second opinion because I don’t have insurance now,I am in financial program whit my hospital . I hope when I se my surgeon gonna have good news. I let you know my friend. Thanks Emma.

Get another opinion. If you are comfortable with your doctor hi for the chemo.many of us have had several reincorporated. Keep keeping on. It is worth the fight. This disease is chronic. In my prayers.
