I attended one of these a few years ago and had a lovely time learning how to fly fish - plus we got to keep our equipment and so my husband and I have been out a few times. My oncologist nominated me as he is a fly fisher and is/was on the board of the group.
My retreat was not stage four only so it was a little awkward and I'm sure my presence was scary to the some of the others. I do still correspond with my "room mate" and I am on their mailing list.
Good organization so please take a look at their site.

Thanks for posting about this. I remember hearing about them and wanted to look into going on one of their trips. Grew up fishing with my grandfather. Always loved it.
I also attended a session over 10 years ago, and enjoyed it. They dealt with psychosocial issues in addition to the bonus of learning how to fly fish (which is very relaxing). Sign-up for the sessions is generally in the spring, although it depends on the location of the retreat. A great organization.
I still fly fish, and got my husband involved also, so it's something we can enjoy together. Definitely worth exploring with a great organization. More and more women are fly fishing every day. There are two women's fly fishing clubs in my region that I belong to.
