hi everyone-

my dad had progression to chest wall and his hip on ibrance after about 14 months on it so he switched to lynparza/ Olaparib for MBC in October of 2023. He had a pet scan on 1/29 that showed a complete metabolic response. Today his monthly labs were drawn and his CEA went from 3.3 to 3.8. At his lab less than OR equal to 3.8 is the normal for non smokers. I’m not sure if I should be concerned about this. We are still awaiting the CA-15-3.

thanks everyone

hi Jennifer , I'm so happy to hear that your dad's scan on 1/29 showed a complete metabolic response . I don't think that small of an increase in the CEA is concerning but would send a message to his oncologist . Let us know the 15-3 level or what your oncologist has to say about the results.

I am still awaiting the 15-3 result back. His oncologist said they look more for trends rather than one data point, but still wanted to gather info from people on this site

Exactly. These numbers bounce around. It has to be consistently high and going up to mean anything at all, and that isn't even high.
