Yes, I have a lung nodule that has doubled in size for a couple of years and have been on Ibrance for over 5 and a half years. I get PET/CT scans every six months, but they don't show up as cancerous. I have added a pulmonologist to my team, so she looks at the scans too. For me, it's probably related to my allergies.
It's a bit scary, but they don't think it will become cancerous and there's nothing to be done until they reach a certain size.
Hi Ph17 - of course we are different and I can only share my story. I have had 2- 4mm lesions in my right lung for several years with no change. The docs believe it could be residual scarring from radiation years ago, scarring from a virus or some benign trauma. The statistics show more often than not they are benign lesions. I can only share my response to the scans and docs comments - “Good I will keep visualizing that they are nothing but an anomaly and benign and that’s what holds truth today!” Good luck and I am wishing the best for you!
HiI've not been on your treatment but twice i have had small spots in my lung which have been monitored over time. Once it disappeared; another time it became clear it was cancer.
Both times I didn't worry, I knew watch and wait was the best approach.. Regular scanning (every 3 months) and vigilance on your part is all it takes. If for instance you start to feel a bit breathless report it so you can bring scans forward.
I wish you all the very best and expect you'll still be talking to this community in five years time.
