It is the same as Verzenio, except it is Pfizer Patient Assistance Program instead of Lily Cares. It seems to be a little harder to get, but it is also income based. With Lily, I could go online and pick up the form and take it to my doctor. With Pfizer, the nurse practitioners gave it to me. I got kicked out once and the oncology pharmacy department looked for foundations to cover it. When I told the np I had lost the free program, she immediately did something and I was back on.
Just looked up Pfizer Patient Assistance Program. They no longer provide free meds if you have commercial insurance (through an employer or federal gov't,), even if you meet the income guidelines. Otherwise, it looks straightforward. On the website, they ask you a series of questions that eventually get you to the form. Ibrance is definitely on the list.
The following takes you to step one of the application process:
Thanks for the information. Will follow up as time goes by.
Hi Bonnie - I got assistance right away through Accredo, the specialty pharmacy when I was prescribed Ibrance. There was no qualifying other than I had commercial insurance. The co-pay assistance was for $25k a year. My insurance pays 50% and Prizer pays 50% until I reach my out of pocket max of $9100 which happens in Feb just from this med. the rest of the year my insurance pays 100% of everything because I’ve met my out of pocket max. So no copay’s for doctor visits, no copays for any meds, scans, nothing. It has been such a blessing but…..I turn 65 in July and have to sign up for Medicare. Everything will change so now I’m researching like you for how this will be covered. The anxiety of this is worse for me than dealing with the MBC. If anyone has any tips of information on this I will be following.
My Healthcare provider hooked me up with it. She did all the paperwork. All I have to do is order it every month via phone after they have placed the order for me. Good luck to you Bonnie.
I applied myself and received it for free even after going on Medicare last Nov (I would definitely stay on private health insurance if I could go back on that decision due to the flaws in Drug Plan D). Pfizer at that time had an income limit but not sure what that limit currently is. Several women on this site had it free which increased their AGI on taxes the following year and therefore, could no longer meet the income limit the following year. Yes, as Gingerann says, it is very stressful chasing down drug funding.
