1st scan after verzenio/letrizole with MBC to bone.

It was my first scan after starting treatment and I was so scared to get results. I am ecstatic to say, my results were all good. My tumor markers started out before treatment at 301. It went down to 150, then 115, and now at 93.7. I was told my alk-phos was in the normal range which she found unusual. I have hardening of some bones mets which means the verzenio is working. More importantly, the only complaints I have on this combo is stomach issues, mostly diarrhea and/or constipation which she addressed. Rescan in three months which I hate because that puts my scan near the holidays. I was originally diagnosed with breast cancer in early December 2014 and it was the worst Christmas I ever had. I swore that would never happen again and had since made sure my mammos were scheduled no where near the holiday. Unfortunately I don’t have a choice anymore so I just hope we see even more good results on my next scan even if it’s so close to the holiday.

I am on Verzenio and Tamoxifen. It has been good to me so far even though it is a relatively short time. Less than a year. It has put my scans at stable.

Stable is what I hope for long-term since it is incurable, although I’ve learned from this site that some women get to NED at least for a while. I would love that, too!

If hair loss is making you stressed, find a good wig to have on hand in case. That way on day 1, you know you have a fall back in case you need it. I like the site tlcdirect.org
