Radiotherapy and adhesive dressings

Hi, I am having radiotherapy to breast/chestwall skin mets. I have an adhesive dressing in place and was advised at the planning appointment that the dressings would need to be off for radiotherapy to that area. A "bolus" is being used to enhance the dose to the skin. Attending for treatment, I have been told that because the dressing was in place for planning it must be there for the treatment. The area is already showing signs of redness on the first two days of treatment. I am obviously unable to moisturise under the dressing, which I need to change daily due to some oozing/bleeding. Attempts to get info from the "experts" is impossible. Has anyone kept an adhesive dressing on the radiated area (with daily dressing changes) and been ok? I really could do without any more problems.

In 2001 I had oozing wound from radiation to my chest and my treatment was continued. It even had an odor. My radiologist's nurse had another nurse look at the wound. She gave me a spray that help the oozing area immensely. It was so long ago that I cannot remember the name. I found the below online. Ask your radiologist if you can use Dermavitality Radiation Relief Spray. Maybe you will be able to rid of the bandage. dermavitality.com/collectio... Good luck.
