Swallowing problems
Hi, sorry your having problems with your throat. I’m taking Ibrance but I don’t really have this issue. Sometimes towards the end of the three weeks of meds I feel my glands under jawline in the neck get a bit sore…and sometimes too my throat gets a bit scratchy ….but this clears up in a few days. I think it’s because WBC are at lowest point and probably fighting a mild infection. Not sure what point in the cycle you are…but if it’s painful you should may be mention it to your oncologists, or have a check up with your general doctor to eliminate the possibility of Covid or some other virus.
Hope you feel better soon, hot lemon tea with honey helps me.
Take care Zoe x
I have had some trouble with breads and things like oatmeal cookies, especially later in the day if I am tired. Certain foods appear to stick in the bottom of my throat and will cause me to have coughing fits as I feel like something is stuck there, esp if I am horizontal for any length of time. Drinking lots of water helps, but I have been avoiding soft puffy bread like buns and also dry breads and cookies. Never had this problem before Ibrance. I have also had surgery to remove the upper lobe of my lung before starting Ibrance, so thought maybe something happened to nerves there? It only appears to happen at night which I find weird.
in May 2011, a rare tumor was removed from the outside of the esophagus. it changed the route of swallowing and made swallowing more challenging; already had swallowing challenges when anxious. with the mets dx in July 2015, and start of Ibrance, it added to this mind-body's swallowing challenge.
