What are others doing who have MBC that has moved to your stomach and caused severe pain, stomach distension, constipation and nausea?

I’ve been on Gemzar chemo. My visit yesterday, my dr would not do chemo bc I had not had a bowel movement for five days and spent the day before in ER. she wants to change to Taxol when I return. I’d like to hear others experience with Taxol. She said I would lose my hair and get neuropathy. I’m also doing other supplements and 444 fb, wondering if I should increasing. Since the cancer moved to my stomach in October I’ve lost 15 pounds that I thought would be easy to gain back. But not! I don’t get hungry and all the foods I used to love are now repulsive to me. I bought benecalorie packets which have 330 calories and lots of nutrients. I add this to soups and smoothies. It’s a tasteless liquid. I’ve been going 4 days with constipation , no bm and 2 days with diarrhea for a while now. It’s so very painful actually worse than labor pains at times. Lol! Any suggestions or recommendations would be helpful. Blessings to you all

I'm sorry you're dealing with so much. I also have cancer in my stomach lining. Here is what has helped me so far. I was put on Linzess by my gastro to keep things "moving", eat 6-7 small meals or snacks a day and stay away from high fiber (like raw fruit or veggies). My gastro also put me on prescription anti acids and a med to coat my stomach lining. For nausea, I use Tummy Drops (Amazon) or Zophran if it's really bad. However, Zophran can cause constipation. I've since seen improvement over the last 9 months, but never gained back the weight I lost. Sending hugs your way! Suzanne

I lost 45 lbs and have gained back 25, darn! Once it spread to my stomach lining I began taking odansetron and pantoprazole. They also switched me to Ibrance and Tomoxifen. That was one year ago. Once the Ibrance kicked in I dropped the odansetron and pantoprazole. I eat whatever I want and have gained weight. I am very lucky in that respect. I hope you stabilize into something more normal! Good luck!

First, I loved taxol and did really well for a year. You need to purchase on Amazon the cold packs for feet and hands. They need to go on 30 minutes before the actual taxol infusion and keep on. Two take an excellent quality vitamin b and b6 twice daily. I had feet neuropathy pains the night of and day after infusion but they came and went and I stretched out my toes, etc to stimulate the nerves. Anyway, I had no neuropathy that lasted at all. Now, my new drug, we will see. And yes, I understand you stomach issues as I too have cancer in my omentim which give me all the symptoms you mention.
