Hand Tremors

So—- I’ve noticed over the past month that my thumb and index finger are shaking. It is not all the time and I thought it was probably the meds. I saw my Onc yesterday and he is VERY concerned. .. I wasn’t that concerned until he freaked out. I’m scheduled for a brain MRI in a couple of weeks. Onc talked about brain leisions or possibly PARKINSONS!

I’m trying not to Google everything— just a bit worried and most of all surprised. How quickly things can change.

Hopefully it is nothing— I was just settling in with this MBC diagnosis after 10 months. What a roller coaster ride!

Cindi,

Try not to Google....hopefully the MRI will help determine what exactly is going on. The waiting a couple weeks is going to be SO hard. Just know that you're in my thoughts & Prayers. Sending you a big { HUG } This journey we're on is sometimes best just taking it 1 day at a time or even an hour at a time. I wish you didn't have to wait so long......Please keep us posted! ❤

Thanks for the prayers 🙏❤ Much appreciated! I never know how it will go. Last month I felt pretty rough during week 3 of Ibrance and my labs were fabulous.....

Yes! Good news and good visits!❤️

Oh, BluHydrangea!

I'm so sorry! I can only imagine how stressful it is...I'm disappointed that the doc didn't communicate in a less fear-inducing way, too!

I am of course hopeful that it's neither brain mets nor Parkinsons and will be sending good vibes your way for a positive result of the MRI. But, just in case it is brain mets...just in case...I'll mention that after seeing so many women here receive great treatment for them, they've become somewhat less scary to me. Some cyber-knifing/rads, one of the drugs that effectively reaches the brain, etc. It seems there are several good options...

...But, needless to say, it's a very frightening prospect and my heart goes out to you during what will no doubt be a very long two week wait...

My very, very best to you...

Take care,

Lynn

Hi lynn-

Thanks for your positive perspective about brain Mets.... one I had not considered. Wishing you a great week of “hard” exercising!

Definitely stay away from Google. It could be a side effect from a medication or many minor things. Try hard to focus on something else. I wish your doctor had just said we will check to be safe and not worry you needlessly. We are here if you need to vent ❤️ Sarah.

A few months ago. I had mentioned on this forum that I have trembling all inside my body. The oncologist offered no explanation but scheduled me for an MRI. It was clear of cancer.

My GP asked me if I had had chemo, what drugs I am taking for the MBC and I had/have if I have neuralgic damage in my feet. My answer to all his questions was a yes. Without hesitation, his answer was that is a side effect of the treatment. I went to a neurologist and he proposed the same thing but was not sure. He offered me medication although I have no pain from it, only worry. He was fairly useless

.

Is it possible that your trembling is from the treatment, also?

I am sending you prayers and good wishes for an MRI that is clear of cancer.

XXX OOO.

Hi JerseyJ— yes, I am hoping for side effects— that’s probably the easiest thing to wish for.... other than tremors going away.

Thanks for sharing your experience— it really helped!❤️

I am glad that my offering helped. I forgot to mention that my MRI was for the brain as yours will be. Again, good luck with the results of the MRI. I am sending prayers.

Good morning, I’ve had the same thing happening. I’m on Ibtance and letrozole. I think it’s probably the medication. I will be following you to make sure that you are OK. My opinion is, it’s the medication. Good luck

Any update? Are you okay?

MRI was fine. No brain lesions— that’s good news! Neurologist has diagnosed me with “essential tremors”. So, the neurologist doesn’t think the meds have anything to do with the tremors. I’m relieved it is not Parkinson’s .

Thanks so much for your concern.❤️

Dr. Google will scare the heck out of us. Hard as it is, I agree with others who hope you can find wait this out until the scan is done. Not an easy task I know.

I’m saying prayers for you to find grace and some kind of calm in the meantime. Hang in there. We are here for you!
