I was diagnosed with mbc in 2004 and one of my primary ways to cope has been to learn all I can. Sometimes Metformin has been prescribed for those of us with mbc--I'm not sure what the reasoning way behind that. If I were in your shoes, I would call my onc's office and ask to speak to the nurse who works with my onc and let them know and see if the onc wants me to do anything differently re the cancer. Overall, anything you can do to keep your glucose levels in the normal range should help your over all health. My brother was diagnosed with type II diabetes around ten years ago and has done really well with diet and exercise. My glocose level has run at the very tip top of the "not diabetes" level for several years and I've kinda wished my pcp would prescribe Metformin for me, lol. Good luck! You've sure been dealt a double whammy! Not fair at all!
