Hi Everyone

So last night myself and a number of my family and friends “braved the shave” at our local pub for cancer research. The support we have had leading up to event and last night has been overwhelming and so far we have raised over £4,000.

This disease is hideous for so many reasons but it also makes you realise how many amazing people there supporting everyone of us.

😘❤️

That's an awesome amount of money you've raised there. Well done to you and your family and friends xx

I think it's great when people do things to raise money and/or awareness. I'm looking at raising awareness of MBC in particular because I don't think a lot of people really understand it. I've had the idea to ask lots of local beauticians, nail technicians, reiki and accupuncture practitioners, hairdressers - all that sort of thing - to donate free sessions and on World Breast Cancer Awareness Day on 18th Oct, I'm going to our local breast care unit and/or chemo unit to donate everything I've collected. I put a call out on Facebook yesterday and already have 2 reiki sessions, hair products and a full make-up makeover including lashes to give away. I'm really hopeful to get more donations. We all know how crappy the disease and/or treatments make us feel so I just thought it would be a nice thing to do, just make someone's day a little brighter while raising awareness - obvs not raising awareness in the unit - they're all too aware already but I'll take photos and put it on FB/Insta/Linkedin - anywhere I think will raise any awareness. The law firm I work for are also big on Corporate Social Responsibility too so I'm trying to get some money off them to buy some sessions too.

Blimey Josie. You are so busy, you put me to shame.

You are right about the lack of understanding about our condition, and even amongst health professionals.

Go girl.

Clare 😁
