My last labs revealed a WBC count of 2, but my neuts were at .8. Has anyone every had this happen on Ibrance and Faslodex?

Really worried since I now have metastatic breast cancer after recovering from APL leukemia.

Hi. Yes, I was on the ibrance/faslodex combination for about 2 years. My WBC and neuts were consistently low. WBC: 2.0 - 2.8. Neuts: rarely > 1.0, usually .6 - .8.

Low neutrophils is one of the major side effects of Ibrance. That's why you take it on a 21/7 schedule; that 7 days off give your counts a chance to rebound. I started taking Ibrance on a 5/2, 5/2, 5/2, 6/1 schedule (while on 125mg) and was able to keep my numbers in the normal range. The first couple of months on the drug, I had to take an extra week off to get numbers up.

Yes happens to me almost every month.

I learned not to worry. It's from Ibrance it rarely causes scary infection that can put you in the hospital like chemo. If you have a fever take your temp find our from your doc how high it has to be for you to call him. If you get sick let him know, I take 75mg of Ibrance now it works just as well, l still get neutropenia. It's never been less than .5 that is when they really worry about you. I used to be terrified of the low numbers, l switched oncologists (other reasons) and am coping much better.

Don't worry about going to a lower Ibrance dose you can get less side effects and it works the same. Take care.

Yes. I am on faslodex and Ibrance for 6 months, prior to this I was on letrozole and Ibrance. My white blood cells and nests are usually low. In fact my onc just told me to stop the Ibrance for a few extra days..
