Hi Jodie
Go to Kris’s Carr’s website. She has a stage 4 cancer and has a health and wellness business, has a book on juices and smoothies, and has a lot of free information and some recipes on her site. Good luck with your treatments!
Thank you very much i will look that up
I would suggest, Dr. Stephen Gundry's book, Plant Paradox Cookbook. I drink, every morning a version of his green drink and love it.
blms, do you juice every morning with fresh veggies and fruits? I am looking for a juicer and am so over whelmed with the options. I am on a plant based diet and will look into Dr. Gundry's book. Thanks!
I LOVE my Vitanix machine and would be hard pressed to live without it! Costco has good prices! It will last forever snd I do many things with it!
I only do a green drink first thing in the morning, every morning! It’s not that I don’t like fruit, it’s just that I limit It because of the sugar content. There’s still a lot of debate about sugar and cancer when it comes to breast cancer. Breast cancer cells or slower dividing the Other cancer cells So the sugar may not be as big a deal as it is with all the cancer. But, I’d rather not take a chance. With that said, for the most part I only Eat some berries when they are in the season only. I buy my fruit and vegetables at the local farmers markets throughout the year. In my smoothie, I’m pretty much take the Gundry idea with some variation depending on what I have in the house. I do use water from my filter as a base but then I cheat and put a little splash of white farmers market apple cider that I keep at the house. Now when I say cheating, I’m not sure it is as the fermentation process puts food in the whole Nother level. So, I green drink in the morning after two or 312 ounce glasses of water sometimes with lemon. Of course I wait about 30 minutes after I drink the water before the green drink. Then I also drink a half a shaker bottle of non-sweetened coconut milk with ground hemp hearts, Ground flaxseed, and some powdered supplements that I take every day. As I am mainly a plant diet now,
At lunch I eat a good amount of arugula, once again farmers market only, with some kind of a small amount of protein, not plant based usually- like fish, shellfish or lamb,
Sauerkraut of some sort, seaweed to help with the radiation exposure and I love it and some other vegetables . I do some other things but I eat must if my food for the day within a 5 hour period only to let my cells rest and heal. I do drink clisrcyo a gallon of clear water daily. And a cup of matcha earlier in day. Look up Gundry on you tube first and order his plant paradox book along with the recipe book. His paradox book changed my world. His first diet book not worth it for me.
What do you put in your green drink? I had a Vitamix for years, but it died on me. It was leaking. I got a Nutri bullet to replace my Vitamix. But regarding Juicing, my Nutri bullet grinds things not really juicing. I am Vegan and eat beans, nuts, some tofu once or twice a month. I eat mainly veggies, but do eat fruits berries, bananas, an apple almost every day. I basically avoid processed foods.
Thanks for your reply! Theresa
Filtered Water, lots romaine lettuce, spinach, whole avocado, fresh spearmint, a few drips stevia, any other greens like kale or cabbage and arugula. I also add a some fresh cider from farmers market then extra water. I make entire vita mix of it and put in containers for about 3 to 4 days worth!! Tastes great to me!!!
Oh sorry to hear you have lost your appetite. I too have MBC and have been on Ibrance, Letrozole and Denosumab injections for the past month. I haven’t lost my appetite but I think it’s important to keep up your fruit and veg intake particularly to boost your immune system, particularly the dark coloured fruits, carrots and anything from the cabbage cruciform family eg kale, broccoli, spinach, cauliflower.
Best of luck and hope your appetite improves.
Hi Jodiec40,
I was diagnosed with MBC in March and I’m on the same treatment plan. I too had no appetite and lost 45 pounds. After, three months I feel much better (my appetite is back) and my tumors markers have gone from 400 to 75. I juice daily, my favorites are spinach (sometimes I substitute kale) pineapple and lemon or carrot, apple, lemon and ginger.
For smoothies, my favorites are: blueberry, kale and flaxseed or strawberry, mango and carrot. I add a tablespoon of a super green mix that includes: chlorophyll and micronutrients such as Vitamin A, K, C, Calcium, Potassium, Folate and Iron.
Hope this helps. Sending ❤️
Jade
Jodiec40, I was diagnosed with MBC in January and began treatment last month Ibrance and Letrozole. I juice every morning ...I don’t have a juicer yet but my Bullet mixes cut up fruits such as banana pineapple avocado and blueberries. I also have a spiralizer for raw veggies. Kris Carr’s books offer lots of helpful ideas. I hope your appetite returns soon.
I’m with you on the appetite. Started the combo in April. I juice for nutrients. Grazing helps...I try not to look at big portions of food. There are alternative therapies that can increase appetite too.
Costco sells some organic smoothie ingredients in frozen section. ❤️
