Revision to a pathology report in 10 days?

I had my lumpectomy in end of December and am recovering nicely. I got my pathology report about 8 days after my surgery was done which cleared me for everything – no cancer cells in the margins / lymph nodes. Then one week later, the pathology report was revised to include that one of my sentinel lymph nodes contained a single 0.2 mm cancer cell. Has anyone here received a pathology report which was later revised? Is it relatively common for pathology reports to be amended a week after it is issued?

Last year I had a biopsy which was negative, they took the lump out and found it had turned positive and then I had to go back to have the lymph nodes checked, thankfully they were negative. Had radiotherapy. Tbh from what I've read there is no certainty with any of this unfortunately 🙁

I have heard of errors happening in this very unfortunate way. I live in fear of my upcoming first yearly imaging one year after being told the same thing as you were told immediately after your surgery. I have heard quite a few ladies reporting that they were told that they had invasive cancer after their first post op mammogram. I think that you are fortunate that they did have a second look at the results of your surgery, and that you are being treated now.

Good luck with all that you face. Wishing you love ❤️
