Hi Caradomben , I hope your therapy went without much discomfort. My daughter too underwent surgery (a lumpectomy), then chemotherapy and 30 sessions of radiation. Funnily enough, she did not have radiation burn anywhere around the breast. But she did have severe burn on the left side of her neck midway through the course. Her oncologist prescribed a blue gel cream (she's forgotten the name) and she would apply that after the session. That helped immensely and she used it till it healed which was a couple of weeks later. I hope this information helps. Take care.
Call the place where you had the radiation and ask to speak to one of the rad nurses! They know alot and can recommend a cream that will help, both the itchiness and for healing.
I had it under my breast and around the nipple about a week after radiation ended. Very sensitive and moist, but it did clear up just using cream that I had used day and night through treatment. It will heal!
I started about halfway through my 33 sessions of radiation having a very bad sunburn reaction. I used aquaphor cream with gauze lightly over it during the day and it went away gradually. Good Luck!!
I have always gotten a rash during the summer under my breasts. I think it is something like diaper rash. I use zinc oxide cream on it. Check with your doctor to see what it really is first before putting anything on it.
I’m in the US and that happened to me 7 yrs ago I used the creams the radiation oncologist prescribed What I found most helpful was to wear my husband’s cotton white T-shirts and folded them into the area under my breast so the skin did not touch the skin. I went braless when I could but if I had to wear a bra, I wore it over the T-shirt. It helped to absorb moisture and reduced friction which increased the heat and irritation. I healed in about a month. Hope you found this helpful.
I purchased some athletic ken's shirts "down south I have heard them called wife beater shirts". Thank you for the hint, I think I will try with the shirts I purchased.
I had a ‘heat rash’ under my breast after radiation therapy. I used cortisone cream and avoided hot temperatures. Also laid under fan to cool off. It went away after 10 days or so. I only had 5 high dose treatments. God bless you as you recover.
Thank you your reply. Unfortunately under my breast broke down and the skin peeled off ,. Still trying to get it under control. Using actiheal gel and Kliniderm silicone dressing as per recommendation from radiology team , Fingers crossed this works 🤞
