Hi Bubba. Tell us some more about your diagnosis and treatment you've had so far. Any surgery? I never had a port however a friend recently did and said she was sore afterwards and slept it off. She was much better the next day.
Hope it goes well!
Hi I had a port for chemo treatments removed 2 months ago..I had it in for about 20 months..a little soar after surgery but was minor..was weird walking around knowing u had it in u too..but just be careful..I wouldn't do paintballing or anything just in case..but when it's removed u have a little scar tissue too.good luck❤
I'm scheduled to have my port taken out next week after 4 cycles of TAC. The surgery to have the port in wasn't bad. I was sore for a few days, but pain relievers took care of that. The port was wonderful during my treatments and 2 hospital stays. I have terrible veins, but they used the port to administer chemo, take blood samples, and give a blood transfusion, IV fluids and antibiotics.
There really isn't any restrictions with the port. You forget about it after a while. The only pain I had from it was when my 3 year old granddaughter was hurt and she came flying at me for comfort and landed her head right on it.
