Hi Bubba. Tell us some more about your diagnosis and treatment you've had so far. Any surgery? I never had a port however a friend recently did and said she was sore afterwards and slept it off. She was much better the next day.

Hope it goes well!

I'm scheduled to have my port taken out next week after 4 cycles of TAC. The surgery to have the port in wasn't bad. I was sore for a few days, but pain relievers took care of that. The port was wonderful during my treatments and 2 hospital stays. I have terrible veins, but they used the port to administer chemo, take blood samples, and give a blood transfusion, IV fluids and antibiotics.

There really isn't any restrictions with the port. You forget about it after a while. The only pain I had from it was when my 3 year old granddaughter was hurt and she came flying at me for comfort and landed her head right on it.
