A Fib

I have had a fib for 3 years. Initially it was a flutter then became fibrillation. Beta blockers don't agree with me and often have no effect. Flecanaide also seems to have no effect. Currently I am taking an anti-coagulant every day. I will be 78 in November.

My resting heart rate (fitbit watch) is upper fifties normally. I am puzzled by terms like persistent fib but asymptomatic. How do you know you have it if no symptoms - by a watch recording it? I certainly know when my heart is jumping around which can happen even under 100 beats. It is more noticeable when it goes up to 160 but that happens less than it used to. I went into hospital twice last year to have my heart rate brought down, but this year have not needed to do this.

My worse symptom is extreme fatigue, slowly getting worse. The cardiologist does not think this is related to my heart?? I try to live normally, but although I have tried slowing down and doing less, the tiredness still continues. I have had health checks completed by the G P but nothing found. I am a poor sleeper, but have been like this for many years. I feel quite desperate at times because of a lack of energy. Anyone else have ideas about this extreme fatigue please?

It dies help to have a counselor for me about my thoughts with heart disease sleep etc and the cardiologist then listened better to that doctor. kee[ record of bp and heart rate.you tube rain and dark screen help me stay asleep.
